Biography

Giles and Rosa have a background in classical ballet, modern jazz and tap dance.  They started dancing Salsa in 1999 and complemented their dance training in the USA with the Rumberos Dance Company, the King of Salsa Mr Eddie Torres, to name a few and  in Cuba with the Narcisso Medina Dance Company.

Together, they established themselves as Salsa Teachers and Performers
not only across the UK but also abroad where they achieved significant successes!

• In 2000, Giles and Rosa created their dance partnership and established OnSalsa, their successful Salsa Classes in Oxford.
• From 2000 – 2005, Giles and Rosa entered and won several competitions
  including the world famous Bacardi World Congress competition where
  they came 2nd nationally.
• In 2006, they pioneered “Salsa Student Performance Courses” in Oxford. These courses were developed to enable social dancers to acquire performance skills and give them the opportunity to show case their choreographies in the UK.
• In 2007, they formed their professional dance group, IGNITE Dance Company,
  which performed nationally and internationally.
• 2007-2016 , official coaches of the Oxford University Salsa Team
• Focussing on their successful weekly Salsa teaching teaching in Oxford
• Hosting their Salsa party nights at the Oxford City Bar 1882, Court Place Farm, OX3 0NQ every 2nd Friday of each month
